About Oakmore

Oakmore is a desirable Oakland neighborhood located in between Interstate 580 and Highway 13, approximately five miles from downtown Oakland.

A variety of architectural styles are found in Oakmore, including mid-century, contemporary, and Mediterranean. Many of these properties are nestled within the hillside which provides residents with incredible views of the San Francisco Bay and surrounding hills.

If you are looking for a picturesque Oakland neighborhood with convenient access to services, schools, and highways, Oakmore is worth exploring. Outdoor enthusiasts love Oakmore due to its close proximity to Joaquin Miller Park. Named after the American poet who once lived on what is now the park’s grounds, Joaquin Miller Park features 500 acres of dense redwoods, oak trees, and pine trees. The park is dog friendly and is a great location for morning/afternoon jogs with your pup, and the fenced-in dog areas are ideal for your furry friends to roam off-leash. There is a fenced play area with swings and climbing structures that is frequented by families from the area - a great spot to get to know your neighbors. It's also home to the Woodminster Summer Musicals, held in the picturesque outdoor Woodminster Amphitheater.

The Dimond District is a short drive of Oakmore, and features a variety of amazing service shops, restaurants, and stores. For those who love shopping for exclusively organic goods, it’s worth a trip to Farmer Joe’s Marketplace, which offers beauty products and fresh sushi as well. Notable restaurants in this area include Grand Lake Kitchen, The Hive, Cafe Umami, Dimond Slice Pizza, and Shaan Indian Cuisine. In neighborhing Glenview there are more popular restaurants.

Commuting with or without a vehicle is no issue for Oakmore residents. Lincoln Avenue connects to the Fruitvale BART Station, which can connect you to the heart of Oakland or Downtown San Francisco in a matter of minutes. Interstate 580 is perfect for driving to San Francisco, while CA Highway 13 makes it easy to travel to Berkeley. Casual Carpool picks up riders on Park Boulevard.
